Single Cold Frame
Timber Single Cold Frame for overwintering plants that may be vulnerable to frosts or for bringing on your summer bedding plants.
This Cold Frame is approx. 2ft 6in wide x 3ft deep. Very robust and built to last.
It has a single hinged lid made of a translucent polycarbonate to allow light and heat in, and with a hasp and staple catch to hold it in place when closed. The lid can be propped open halfway on a stay or fully opened and held on a chain.
Cold Frames can be used all year round, not only for propagating and hardening off in the Spring but also to over-winter vulnerable plants.
They can be moved regularly and set up on soil, concrete, gravel, or paved areas as space allows; they can be lined and directly filled with soil to take the plants or are more normally used to house the plants in their pots.
