Ordering before and during the Christmas Holidays

Order by 2pm on 20th Dec, for normal supplies orders, for delivery via DPD courier on 23rd/24th Dec (not incl. remote areas and islands). We will continue despatching your orders up to 12pm on 23rd Dec, but cannot ensure pre-Xmas delivery, so delivery will be from 27th Dec onwards.

Please note that deliveries at this time of year cannot be 'guaranteed' due to potential weather/courier/driver/traffic issues but 95% are made on time. For larger pallet deliveries (e.g. heavyweight or housing), the last despatch date for pre-Christmas delivery is 18th Dec (subject to availability).

Flyte so Fancy's retail shop and phone lines will be closed from midday on 24th Dec. until 8am on 2nd January 2025. Please EMAIL if you need to contact us. Any online orders placed AFTER midday on 23rd Dec. onwards will be sent when we return on 2nd January.

Delivery Information

Delivery is available throughout the UK and Channel Islands and, to most areas, it is the next working day - more details below. However, recent notifications from couriers have meant we are unable to send some larger items to N Ireland and the Channel Islands due to size. Collection from our Retail Premises in Dorset is also possible during opening hours.

DPD Local delivery van

For small orders e.g. poultry supplies, our standard courier (DPD) delivery service is the next working day for orders placed before 2pm (this is not guaranteed and may not always be possible at busy times/bank holidays).

For housing/garden stores pallet deliveries (heavy consignment) or for other timber/large items, please see more details below - each product gives delivery lead times on the product information page under the images.

HOWEVER, although next working day has always been our standard delivery service, and most of our parcels are delivered quickly, due to the current courier issues, they will no longer 'guarantee' next working day delivery. We find recently that heavier items, particularly Woodchip, Feeds, Bedding etc. are being 'sidelined', or separated, by the couriers and can take up to 3 days or more to arrive.

Please note: Courier and pallet deliveries are not made, as standard, at weekends or on Bank Holidays.*

The delivery charge is calculated at the checkout according to weight, box size and postcode. This delivery charge starts at £3.95 for small lightweight items under 500g (we occasionally use Royal Mail) and depending on box size.

For most parcels, we use a next working day courier delivery e.g. 600g to 5kg - £5.99-£6.95, 5kg to 10kg - £7.80, 10kg-15kg - £8.99, to postcodes in most of the mainland UK. The Highlands (e.g. AB, DD, PH, PA, IV, KW ), Islands (e.g. HS, IV40+, PA/PH, ZE, and others) and remote areas of Wales/Scotland/Islands will be more.

Bulk orders of heavy items e.g. woodchip or feed (over 90kg total weight) are normally sent by palletised delivery with Palletline which can take a few days to schedule for despatch. Please let us know if your order is urgent.

* If you require a DPD courier Saturday delivery there is a surcharge starting at £25 (sorry), and this option is not available in all areas, which is added to the standard courier delivery charge (for this option please call us 01300 345229). This surcharge varies according to the weight and destination of goods. For Saturday deliveries of heavy palletised orders, again only available to certain postcodes, the Saturday surcharge starts at £65.00 (sorry again).

Housing deliveries and heavy or bulky items (total weight over 90kg) are usually delivered on a pallet via Palletline and details of whether housing items are currently in stock are given on the relevant product page. Under every product image is a tab for delivery details and this will advise of current timescales.

Carriage charges for pallets vary considerably according to region/postcode. For example, most mainland England postcodes start at £59. For the most up to date delivery timescale though please call us on 01300 345229.

All deliveries will normally require a signature but, if you are not going to be available to receive the delivery, please could you state during the checkout process (in view basket) where the driver can leave the parcel/pallet safely. Alternatively, just email info@flytesofancy.co.uk with any necessary details.

Estimated delivery times are given on the information page of each house, garden store, or unit under the tab titled DELIVERY. To find the delivery charges, add goods required to the shopping basket, click Checkout, select destination and it will calculate the delivery charge.

For example, delivery of housing via Palletline company start at £59 for mainland England and can be £200+ for remote areas (some islands would require individual quotes for pallet deliveries e.g. Orkneys/Shetlands, as these are excluded from normal Scottish Island pallet delivery charges).

If in doubt please call 01300 345229, Message Us, or use the 'Chat' option in the bottom right of the websites pages.

Please call us if your order does not arrive within 3 days of despatch, or, for pallet deliveries, if it does not arrive on the day we have given you in your delivery information email.

Pallet Deliveries

Palletline delivery lorry

All pallet deliveries are made 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday. Your pallet will arrive on a day agreed with you prior to despatch**. This will be confirmed by both email and a pre-despatch phone call. The pallet will arrive as a complete delivery, pallet included.

The Palletline lorry driver will not unpack the pallet for you but will put it, using his pallet handler, in as convenient a place as possible for you to unpack at your leisure (steps, grass or gravel are not possible for this machine).

The delivery pallet size for most housing is 1.2m x 1.5m (4ft x 5ft) x up to 2.2m high (depending on order contents). The goods are wrapped and strapped on the pallet for you to unpack later. The lorry we request is usually a 7.5 tonne curtain-sided lorry with a rear tail-lift. If you think delivery this way may be a problem, please contact us and we will consider other options e.g. DPD Freight or smaller dedicated vehicle but these may have a surcharge.

PLEASE see How Our Pallets are Delivered for information about lorry size, access required and what the Palletline company/driver is contracted to do. This document opens as an Adobe PDF. You will receive a link to this page with your Delivery Date email.

Left: Pallets packed and ready to leave us, this is how they should arrive with you - neat and tidily wrapped.
Right: Delivery is via Tail-Lift Lorry and hand-held pallet mover. The driver will leave the whole pallet on your driveway/property.

**PLEASE NOTE, pallet transportation is under huge pressure currently due to a nationwide lack of drivers, lack of small vehicles, and higher than normal volumes in the network. This may mean we are unable to deliver when access requires small lorries or has overhanging trees, and there may be occasions when the given delivery date is unable to be met by the pallet company.
