Penthouse Duck House

Sale price£455.00
SKU: PDH
Quantity:

The Penthouse Duck House is approx 4ft x 3ft internally and would accommodate 6 Indian Runner-type Ducks or about 4 small/2 large Geese.

The Penthouse is made in Dorset by Flyte so Fancy using eco-friendly pressure-treated timber throughout with exterior-grade plywood floor. This means the Penthouse is built for a tough life outdoors with waterfowl.

Delivered Ready Assembled.

Penthouse Duck House has a spacious inside for Geese or Ducks with lots of ventilation (which they definitely need!).

A simple rectangular box design that would be delivered ready assembled, it has a recycled, and recyclable, plastic (removable) roof and a large front door for the ducks or geese.

See details of the timber we use and how to care for it at - About our Housing.

Note: The roof is now our never-leak, grey, recycled plastic board (images 2, 3, 4) - not all images show the new roof.

Excellent duck house, shame about the courier

The duck house itself is very well made and is clearly built to last. My only criticism of the house is access for collecting eggs and cleaning. The roof is too heavy and awkward for me to take on and off by myself for checking for eggs and for cleaning. I've never had a poultry house where I've had to rely on another person to help me collect eggs or clean out (which you have to do every couple of days for waterfowl). This is frustrating as I live alone. I didn't expect the roof to be that heavy and I do not have any disabilities that effect my husbandry ability, so if I'm struggling, I think a lot of others would too. I manage all my other poultry housing and chores no problem, but need help with this house. Because of the height of the house, it's very hard to reach in to clean the floor too and I've had to buy a fishtank net to reach for the eggs and one of those upright dustpan and brush sets you use in stables. That being said, I would order a different product from FSF in the future as the quality of the product is there, I just think its quite an awkward design for egg collection and cleaning. My 5 ducks are happy in there which is ultimately the most important thing. The other downside was the pallet company were terrible. I did not get any form of communication before or on the day of the delivery. It got to 11am with no update from them, so I googled their number, got through to a snotty member of staff who told me my order must be stuck in their system with no solution or willingness to help or look into it for me, just told me to phone back later. Bearing in mind I've lost a day's wages to wait in for this service. Even if I knew AM or PM, then I could've made better use of my day. I phoned back again an hour later to hopefully get someone else on the line and was told it would be between 1 and 3, and then the driver phoned me himself and gave me a different ETA. I don't understand how in 2025 it's impossible for couriers to organise themselves. So a point off for the access to the house and another off for the delivery service.

Hi Milly,
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave an extensive review. Overall, glad to hear that you are happy with the Duckhouse, and certainly take on board your comments regarding access and day to day use. We try to cater all of our designs for ease of use, but there are always some limitations when working with stronger materials, and the subsequent weight of the product.
More concerning being the un-necessary faff with Palletline - which i must say is not indicative of their usual service. There are, again, some limitations with the nature of pallet deliveries, as they have to allow considerably more leeway on delivery time frames than a standard courier as the potential for delivery complications is much higher. Most pallets come straight off the lorry and onto a drive, others, not so much.
We do alwasy encourage our customers to contact us directly if there are any questions or issues on the day of delivery, and we will liaise will Palletline directly on your behalf. That being said, we will of course feed this back to the delivering depot for you
